Desktop Support Engineer (Full-Time)

General Information:
Desktop Support Engineer position consists of both on-site and remote support for Alexandria Networks' client base in northern Virginia. This position is full time with possible weekend project work. This position reports to the CEO and Vice President of Alexandria Networks. This position is mostly remote support and requires a professional consulting mindset where technical business solutions and customer service are the primary focuses. Our Systems Engineers serve as Project Managers within their areas of expertise and assist with time and project estimates. This position will interact with all levels of the company. The success of this position depends on good analytical skills, effective documentation, and strong communication skills.

Specific Duties:

• Architect, maintain and monitor our managed services platform for clients
• Build and maintain Alexandria Networks' managed services server and management software throughout the infrastructure
• Managed services deployment, monitoring, and event logging
• Develop and document processes and procedures
• Provide Tier 2 & 3 levels of support to customers using managed services

Required Experience, Skills and Training

• Strong communication and customer service skills required
• Experience with the latest versions of Kaseya or LabTech required
• Proficiency and experience with remote OS deployments
• Experience with all core functions such as backups, reporting, service desk, help desk ticketing, etc using a managed services platform
• Experience with supporting clients in a managed services environment
• Experience with SonicWALL Enhanced OS firewalls and Juniper firewalls
• Strong foundation in TCP/IP networking and Active Directory
• Working knowledge of Blackberry Enterprise Server and Blackberry handheld devices
• Familiar with using a help desk ticketing system

Misc Information
This position is Metro accessible but candidate must have own transportation for travel to various client sites.  Alexandria Networks offers a competitive salary and benefits package.  Must be a current US citizen, be able to pass a background check with references. Immediate start date available.

Salary Range
$30,000 to $40,000/year

Senior Systems Engineer (Part-Time)

General Information:
The Senior Systems Engineer position consists of both on-site and remote support for Alexandria Networks' client base in northern Virginia. This part-time position is 2-3 days a week on various weekdays with possible weekend project work. This position reports to the point of contact on-site at the client site as well as the CEO and Vice President of Alexandria Networks. This position is client-facing and requires a professional consulting mindset where technical business solutions and customer service are the primary focuses. Our Senior Network Engineers serve as Sales Engineers within their areas of expertise and assist with time and project estimates. This position will interact with all levels of the company. The success of this position depends on good analytical skills, effective documentation, and strong communication skills.

Specific Duties:

• Architect, maintain and monitor the current and future virtual environment at Alexandria Networks data center and client sites
• Build and maintain servers, patch levels, and management software throughout the infrastructure
• Provide general support for all VMware and Microsoft technologies
• Develop and document processes and procedures
• Provide Tier 2 & 3 levels of support to customers

Required Experience, Skills and Training

• Experience upgrading core virtual infrastructure
• Proficiency and experience with SAN and iSCSI/NFS/FC technologies
• Experience with all core VMware components (vMotion, vSphere, VMware Consolidated Backup, HA, DRS)
• Experience with Veeam or similar block level replication products required
• Experience with Layer 2/3 switching including designing and implementing VLANs, traffic shapping and prioritization
• Experience with SonicWALL Enhanced OS firewalls and Juniper firewalls
• Strong foundation in TCP/IP networking and Active Directory

Misc Information
This specific client is not Metro accessible so candidate must have own transportation.  This position could potentially grow into a full-time position. Due to the part-time nature of this position, benefits are not being offered at this time. Network & Systems Engineer (Full-Time)

General Information:
The Network & Systems Engineer position consists of both on-site and remote support for one of our clients based in Springfield, Virginia. This part-time position is  Tuesday - Friday from 8:30 am till 5:00 pm. This position reports to the point of contact on-site at the client site as well as the CEO of Alexandria Networks.

Specific Duties:

• Support up to 100 staff members at client site
• Support up to 15 off-site users in a Windows 2003 Active Directory environment
• Basic administration of Windows 2003 and Exchange 2003 server (add/delete user accounts)
• Basic administration of Blackberry Enterprise Server 4.1/5.0(add/remove users as needed)
• Provide end-user support for any and all hardware/software related tickets
• Monitor and maintain anti-virus and anti-spyware software for end-user community
• Maintain ShoreTel VoIP phone system (add/move users)
• Provide daily time entries for billing

Required Experience, Skills and Training

• Troubleshooting PC and network issues
• Excellent working knowledge of Office 2003/Office 2007
• Basic Knowledge of Windows 2003 Active Directory including creating users and Exchange mailboxes
• Experience with Terminal Server 2003/2008, PPTP VPN and other remote access packages
• Experience with LogMeIn remote access tools or Remote Desktop (RDP)
• Excellent customer service skills and strong communication skills (verbally and electronically)
• Ability to document technical procedures for end-users
• MCITP Certification or higher
• Two years experience working in a help desk environment, end-user support or network support role
